BUBBLEDOG'S Scratch 'n Sniff Sticker Collection

Mello Smello
was established in 1980 and was one of the most popular brands collected by kids in the eighties. Most Mello Smello stickers are easily identifiable by their black border, their diecut shapes, and the text of "scratch and smell the..." printed on the sticker. They were sold both in packs and from the roll.  This first set includes some smaller Mello Smello stickers (about 1.5" wide) that came on soft waxy backing paper.

These larger Mello Smello stickers came on harder cardstock backing paper and were also sold in both packs and from the roll.  These stickers measure about two inches wide by two and a half inches tall. There are many scents that have duplicate designs.  The hardest stickers to find are the Eucalyptus and the Rose with the yellow butterfly.

Mello Smello produced this line of Mission Nutrition stickers as a way to promote healthy eating in elementary school lunch programs. These stickers are quite hard to find and there are several more (with Disney characters on them) that are not featured here.  Each sticker has a collector number printed on the back of the backing.

The following stickers come from a variety of sources.  These stickers were produced by Mello Smello but in conjunction with another business for advertising/marketing purposes.  I am not quite sure of the origin or how these stickers were distributed (except for the Cinnamon Toast Crunch stickers which were cereal premiums).  There may be many more Mello Smello advertising stickers in existence, but these are the stickers I have either seen or been able to get my hands on.

I have them in my collection as Mello Smellos, but they do not say Mello Smello anywhere

on them.
